Aït Ben Haddou is a fortified city along the former caravan route between the Sahara and Marrakech in present-day Morocco. This giant fortification is a great example of earthen clay architecture. Aït Ben Haddou has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987.
Many Hollywood films have been shot there, including: Lawrence Of Arabia (1962), Jesus of Nazareth (1977), The Jewel of the Nile (1985), The Mummy (1999), Gladiator (2000), Alexander (2004), Kingdom of Heaven (2005), Prince of Persia (2010), Game of Thrones (2014) and many more til today.
We will pick you up from our hotel in Marrakesh and start a 4 hour journey across Tishka pass (2260m) to a small but world-famous Berber village of Ait Benhaddou. This is a must-see for anyone who is interested in architecture and history of this region. After our arrival, we will have lunch in a nice restaurant with this UNESCO world heritage kasbah in the background.
